Senior Vision Care
Presentation, Q&A, and Free Screenings
Dozens of seniors at the CMC Senior Center enjoyed an informative special presentation on “Senior Vision Care”, with guest lecturer Dr. Aaron Grossman. A renowned expert ophthalmologist, Dr. Grossman captivated the crowd’s attention with an in-depth discussion of the prevention, identification and treatment of vision disorders that are common among the elderly. The seniors in attendance appreciated the opportunity to learn about important issues such as cataracts and floaters, sudden vision loss, dry eyes, and eye infections. Dr. Grossman explained several examples of how to distinguish between emergency and non-emergency vision problems.
A lively question and answer session followed the lecture by Dr. Grossman. Subsequently, free vision and glaucoma screenings were provided for all the seniors in attendance. The screenings produced at least one critically important result, as one of the seniors was found to have a potentially dangerous vision issue that required urgent evaluation and treatment.
